Sculptor Mark Beattie has exhibited his work nationally, alongside some great artists such as Tracey Emin, the late Lynn Chadwick, Helaine Blumenfeld and Jonathan Yeo. Working with various metals in all their contrasting properties of texture and finish, Mark can make industrious material appear fluid, malleable and delicate. He continues to study different metals, looking at ways to manipulate and add movement to the material, and over the past 18 months has been developing ways in which neon or LEDs can compliment his sculptures, adding to the movement of a piece and catching the viewers eye.
Over the last few years he has also worked on a number of exciting projects in terms of larger commissions for outdoor spaces.
Mark has a strong academic background in art, having studied a BA Hons (International) in Contemporary Art Practice at Leeds University and more recently an MA in European Arts Practice at Kingston University, Surrey. To date he has now exhibited in over 20 exhibitions, solo and group, and has a strong following from collectors both in the UK and abroad.
