Emerging British-born painting talent, Peter Ceredig-Evans creates paintings that carry a strangely welcoming combination of intensity and serenity, whilst offering the emotive human responses often found in Abstract Expressionism. His use of colour and line emphatically reflecting this.
Brushstrokes are often autonomous and intrinsically expressive, honouring the feeling and emotion of the subject. Pete uses our human experiences and interactions as a familiar link to the visual suggestions of memory that are portrayed in his work.
His paintings float in a space between abstraction and figuration where a sense of place or identifiable object can be detected, yet the works subtly transmit the notion of a dreamlike existence. He depicts scenes that trigger a nostalgic dialogue with the viewer, offering them an invitation to experience a new relationship with a memory, time and again.
Peter has had numerous shows in the UK, having graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Bath School of Art. A promising emerging talent, his work is already in the collections of art collectors both in the UK and abroad.
